One Nation One Ration Card Scheme started in the country from today.

In view of the coronavirus epidemic, today, the One Nation, One Ration Card system has been implemented in the entire country. Due to this, nearly 600 million people in the country can benefit. The government has implemented this scheme in view of the exodus of workers. This scheme will be implemented throughout the country by March 2021. Now it will be applicable only in 20 states.

Union Food and Supplies Minister Ram Vilas Paswan tweeted that the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme has been implemented in the country from today, people of 20 states will benefit from this scheme. He further said that by August 31, we will add three more states to it. At the same time, by 2021 it will be implemented in the whole country.

Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said during the press conference that One Nation One Ration Card will be fully implemented by August 2020, which will benefit 67 crore people in 23 states. 83 per cent beneficiaries of the PDS scheme will join it. By March 2021, 100 percent beneficiaries will be added to it. In any corner of the country, people will be able to avail ration from the shop at a reasonable price with their ration card.

What is One Nation One Ration Card?

One Nation One Ration Card is an ambitious scheme in which the poor of the country can get food grains through a single ration card anywhere. Migrant laborers can get the most benefit from this scheme. The consent of the state government is necessary for this scheme. So far, only 20 states have given consent for this. It is believed that other states may soon give their consent.

Such benefits will be given - To take advantage of this scheme, two things are needed most. There is first, ration card and second, Aadhar card. Verification will be done by linking the ration card to the Aadhaar card and on this basis you can take a ration in any part of the country. Every ration shop will now have an online electronic device, so that the grain taker will be verified.
